What began with less than 1,000 attendees has grown into a mini-program of the annual Film Festival with an audience of more than 4,000 Chicago area students (primarily from the public schools) The students attend free daytime film screenings at Festival theaters as a class. This program just celebrated its 19th anniversary during this year’s Chicago Latino Film.
The Center has worked with several community organizations, which host special programs (film screenings, concerts, comedy shows, dance performances, etc.) free of charge, allowing families (who otherwise could not attend the regular shows) the opportunity to enjoy an outing with their children. Each year between 700 and 1,000 people attend these events. Additionally, we provide about 5% or 100 free tickets for the special events of the Film Festival. Similar type of arrangement is implemented with other cultural programs throughout the year.
Every year, a new panel of judges in the fields of design and marketing select the winning poster for the annual Chicago Latino Film Festival.
The selected poster becomes the face of the Festival, as it will be on the cover of half-a-million newsprint programs, invitations, program books, electronic ads, t-shirts and more.
