Press Accreditation Guidelines and Application Process
42nd Chicago Latino Film Festival | April 16–27, 2026
Thank you for your interest in covering the 42nd Chicago Latino Film Festival. We are excited to welcome media partners to this year’s celebration of Latino cinema and look forward to working with you.
Media registration opens March 4, 2026 and closes April 6, 2026. To ensure we can process all applications thoroughly, we are unable to accept credential requests after the April 6th deadline. We kindly ask that you plan accordingly and submit your materials early to avoid any last-minute complications. Please note that walk-up credential requests cannot be accommodated.

Application Requirements
To complete your media credential application, please provide the following information and supporting materials through the online form:
Work Samples
Submit samples of your most recent film-related reportage, such as reviews, feature stories, or interviews. Arts and community-related pieces may also be considered. If you covered last year’s festival, we would appreciate including those clips among your current samples — it helps us understand your approach and reach.
Assignment Letters (Freelancers & Photographers)
Freelance writers and photographers should include a letter on company letterhead from your supervising editor or producer. The letter should specify the focus of your assignment and the anticipated publication or air date(s). This helps us ensure coverage aligns with the festival’s goals and gives us a sense of where your work will appear.
Please note that spec photography, portfolio shoots, and personal website photography do not qualify as valid assignments for credential purposes.
Bloggers & Digital Media
If you are a blogger or digital content creator, please submit a letter of intent describing the type of coverage you plan to provide and your anticipated posting frequency. You can send this letter to press@latinoculturalcenter.org.
Headshot
Include a high-resolution headshot through the form below. This assists us with on-site credential verification and festival communications.
Post-Festival Coverage Sharing
We kindly request that you share a copy of your coverage — whether a published article, audio clip, or video segment — with our press office during or after the festival. The sooner you can share your work, the sooner we can amplify it with our filmmakers, partners, and social media followers. Your stories help extend the reach and impact of the festival long after the closing credits roll.
Application Review Process
- Your application will be considered complete once all supporting materials have been received. Incomplete submissions may experience processing delays or may not be reviewed.
- Our festival press office will notify you via email regarding your application status and provide credential pick-up instructions once approved.
- The festival reserves the right to approve, deny, or revoke accreditation as needed. All decisions are final.
Interview Requests
Our press office is happy to help coordinate interviews with filmmakers, actors, and other talent attending the Chicago Latino Film Festival. Interviews can typically be arranged at the festival’s official hotel, at your outlet’s location, or — with some exceptions — at the theater. Advance notice is required to ensure availability, so please reach out as early as possible with your interview requests and pitch story.
Questions?
We appreciate your interest and look forward to collaborating with you to bring outstanding coverage to this year’s festival. If you have any questions or need assistance with your application, please contact us at press@latinoculturalcenter.org — we are here to help.
Thank you for helping us celebrate Latino cinema in Chicago.
