Winner of all four awards at last year’s Tribeca Film Festival International Narrative Feature competition, including Best Feature and Best Screenplay, Guto Parente’s film focuses on David, an experimental filmmaker who’s been invited to present his latest work at a film festival, marking his return to Brazil after many years. But when the entire country is locked down once the COVID-19 pandemic is declared, David has no choice but to seek shelter in his estranged father’s apartment. Parente weaves scenes from David’s experimental film into the main story as the sense of isolation begins to take hold of both father and son.
