Al Otro Lado de La Niebla • Iván Vallejo, the first Ecuadorian to climb to the summit of Mount Everest in 1999, wants to make a film which will commemorate his trajectory. He invites filmmaker Sebastián Cordero, who premiered his first film (“Ratas, ratones, rateros”) in Venice the same year Iván achieved his feat, to the project. Together, they will travel to Nepal, where they will realize they share many similar life experiences but also have opposing views when imagining this documentary. As days go by, the high altitude and the depletion of oxygen will take their debate to a transcendental territory.
