Quizás es cierto lo que digan de nosotros • Ximena (Aline Küppenheim, “Chile ‘76”) and her younger daughter return home one day to find elder daughter Tamara waiting for them after a long absence. Tamara has spent these years living with a sect which is now under investigation by the police for the disappearance of her newborn child. Based on the infamous Colliguay doomsday cult whose sacrifice of a newborn baby in 2013 shocked all of Chile, Gómez and Becerra’s harrowing new film focuses on the traumatic impact of a cult’s actions on a family instead of the story’s more sensationalistic aspects.

Directors Sofía Gómez and Camilo Becerra are scheduled to attend both screenings.
