Nicolás Francella stars as Francisco, a teacher at a rural school who discovers that one of his students is intellectually gifted. Eight-year-old Sofía (the wonderful Lola Carelli in her feature film debut) can solve complex mathematical problems, is curious about science, and is also an outstanding artist. Nicolás understands that she is wasting time in this environment and tries to move heaven and earth to transfer her to a better school. His quixotic zeal will face the gigantic windmills of a bureaucracy and a society unwilling to do what’s right for their children.
Director Nicolás Tuozzo is scheduled to attend both screenings.
