Official Movie Poster of La Mujer Salvaje - Official Selection of the 40th Chicago Latino Film Festival (cuba)

In a Havana slum, forty-year-old Yolanda (Lola Amores, winner of the Best Actress in a Leading Role award at this year’s Málaga Film Festival) survives a bloody fight in which her husband almost kills her lover. In a desperate attempt to spare her son from the repercussions of this scandal, she decides to run away with him, but a video of the incident has already gone viral and Yolanda’s mother has already fled with him without her consent. As she looks for any information about the boy’s whereabouts, she begins to face the hostility of neighbors and others who have seen the video. González’s feature debut portrays a woman ferociously seeking to escape a world dominated by machismo, poverty and violence.
